- 1. When PageStream3 was first released, patches were more frequent
- because the bugs that needed fixing were more serious. Now that it's
- stable, we're taking more time to finish it. (Less putting fingers
- in holes in the dyke and more building the dyke higher. ;-)
-
- 2. Releasing a version isn't as simple as uploading a file. We once
- estimated that releasing a new version of PGS3 takes 2 weeks out of
- our development schedule. We would have a lot more done if we hadn't
- released 8 substantial updates since 3.0. But of course, you wouldn't
- have had the benefit of the bug fixes and new features if we hadn't
- released the updates. We try to balance the time required to release
- a new version with the need for a new version.
-
- I will probably spend 1.5 weeks preparing the 3.0i release. And
- after the patch is uploaded, I will spend another week on the 3.0i
- master disks, 3.0i update disks, 3.0i German release, etc. So we
- simply can't release a new version every month.
